National Poetry Month may have come to an end, but as Dan Wilcox reminds us, “Every Day is Poetry Month in Albany”. Here is what’s coming up.
This Saturday, Hudson Valley poets will be getting together for “I Did It With Will Nixon: New Adventures in Collaborative Poetry” at WAAM.
There are still a couple of days left of National Poetry Month and there so much poetry happening in the area, so go out and find your stage.
When the first Word Fest happened in 2001 it was an open mic. Since then Word Fest has grown & changed, but the one constant is the annual Word Fest Open Mic.
The kick-off, the 1st round, the ceremonial 1st pitch, the launch of Up the River, the opening lines of Word Fest in the backroom of McGeary’s.
Word Fest week is here! We have a week’s worth of poetry & spoken word events lined up. Plus, there are open mics & reading taking place all over the area.
We are now within two weeks until the 2014 Albany Word Fest, our celebration of National Poetry Month and the poetry and spoken word of upstate NY.
We are kicking off National Poetry Month big with Poets Speak Loud on Monday, NGS on Tuesday, and Caffe Lena Poetry Open Mic on Wednesday.

The Hudson Valley Writers Guild supports the efforts of writers in all genres by sponsoring readings, workshops, and contests and providing a number of valuable resources for the entire literary community.
