National Poetry Month may have come to an end, but as Dan Wilcox always reminds us, “Every Day is Poetry Month in Albany”. We have a lot of poetry and spoken word lined up starting this coming Monday in Woodstock and continuing through the week as we celebrate the poetry and spoken word of upstate New York and western Massachusetts.

Here’s the full lineup of what is going on the our community this coming week…

Monday, May 5

7:00pm – Nitty Gritty Slam #69 – The Wild Card / Last Chance Slam
The Low Beat, 335 Central Ave., Albany, NY
Albany’s poetry slam continues with your last chance to get into the Grand Slam coming up in two weeks. Admission to NGS is $5.00 / $3.00 with student ID. (18 + / 21 to drink)

8:00pm – Northampton Poetry Open Mic
World War II Club, 50 Conz Street, Northampton, MA
Northampton’s only weekly open mic poetry night offers some of the best, most creative voices in the county. Every Tuesday night at 8:00pm. Come down and listen. Come down and share your words. Academic or slam, spoken word or political: Your words are welcome.
