Albany’s poetry slam series returns to The Low Beat on Tuesday, November 18 for the first Team Nitty Gritty Semi-Final for Season Four.
Dan missed a few of these gatherings, but found his way back to The Low Beat in time to hang out & catch the open mic, with Kevin Peterson as host.
Season 4 of Nitty Gritty Slam continues on Tuesday, November 4 at The Low Beat with special featured poet, Adriana Ramirez from Pittsburgh.
It’s that time a year again, we are back at The Low Beat on Tuesday, October 21 for the 3rd Annual Inappropriate Slam!
NGS returns to The Low Beat on October 7 continuing Season Four with poetry & spoken word and a featured reading from Crystal Valentine.
Poets in the Park is celebrating over 20 years of bringing poetry in July to the Robert Burns statue in Albany’s Washington Park.
It was the 1st Tuesday in June, so I headed over to The Low Beat in the Central Ave. entertainment grid for the Slam and poetry open mic.
When the first Word Fest happened in 2001 it was an open mic. Since then Word Fest has grown & changed, but the one constant is the annual Word Fest Open Mic.
Word Fest week is here! We have a week’s worth of poetry & spoken word events lined up. Plus, there are open mics & reading taking place all over the area.
We are now within two weeks until the 2014 Albany Word Fest, our celebration of National Poetry Month and the poetry and spoken word of upstate NY.
Things are really heating up as we get closer to selecting the team to represent Albany and NGS at the National Poetry Slam in Oakland.
