Another great week of poetry and spoken word this week in Albany. We kicked off the week at Professor Java’s for Keith Spencer’s monthly Wide Open Mic. This time around we were moved to a different, smaller room, but we made it work for the evening that featured music, poetry and comedy.
Speaking of Keith Spencer…he has put together an exciting program for this weekend’s Living Walls exhibit. The Albany poetry and spoken word community will be represented at this event by Cheryl Rice, Avery, Nancy Denofio, Carol Graser, Joe Krausman, Jan Tramontano, Bob Sharkey, Miriam Axel-Lute, Tess Lecuyer, Bless, Carolee Sherwood and Jill Crammond.
The poetry action doesn’t stop there. On Monday, Murrow (Keith Spencer and Thom Francis) will be taking over the hosting duties (and featuring) for R.M. Engelhardt for One Night Only at the Saint Poem Reading Series at the UAG Gallery.
Then on Tuesday, the second Nitty Gritty Slam is happening at Valentines.
