Local poet Dawn Marar took first place in the first annual Stephen A DiBiase poetry contest for her poem ‘Beyond the Naupaka Hedge.’
Dan Wilcox was in attendance for Don Levy’s final Live from the Living Room reading and open mic at the Pride Center on Wednesday, March 9.
Noah Kucij was the featured poet at one of the last Live From the Living Room readings at The Pride Center in Albany.

The 27th Annual “Day of Poet” Poetry Contest & Open Mic is Saturday, November 28 at the William K. Sanford Library with a top prize of $200.
The 2015 Albany Word Fest has been great and we have two more great events: the Word Fest Open Mic & 3rd Annual Word Fest Invitational Slam.
The December Poets Speak Loud was an old-school open mic, no featured poet, plenty of old regulars, with our host Mary Panza keeping order.
Once again Mary Panza called us to order in the back room of McGeary’s for featured poet Paul Pines and a full card of open mic readers.
Dan Wilcox made it down to the Poets Speak Loud open mic at McGeary’s just in time for a great night of spoken word featuring Andy Clausen.
Another third Thursday at the Social Justice Center, with our featured poet, Susan Maurer, all the way up from New York City.
