From the time-honored village of Ballston Spa, NY, Brian Dorn has been publishing rhyming-poetry on the internet for several years. A graduate of The University of Albany and SUNY Adirondack, Brian has effectively leveraged cyberspace to circulate his clever wordplay throughout an increasingly paperless world. Thanks to the web, Brian Dorn’s poetry has reached an audience far beyond upstate NY. Brian has authored hundreds of poems, many of which can be found in his two-volume collection, From My Poems To Yours.
Back to Caffè Lena for the first time in 2016, and the place was a-buzz with questions about the recently-reported remodeling of the folk music center.

The 2015 Albany Word Fest has been great and we have two more great events: the Word Fest Open Mic & 3rd Annual Word Fest Invitational Slam.
A big week of poetry starts on Sunday with three readings in the area & the words continue all week – it’s not even National Poetry Month yet!
It turned out to be quite a night of poetry, performance & Slam at The Low Beat. Kevin Peterson was the host for the open mic & Thom Francis was the host for the Slam.
We are heading into the Holiday Season & we’re truly thankful to have such a great wealth of talented poets and spoken word artists in the area.
Dan missed a few of these gatherings, but found his way back to The Low Beat in time to hang out & catch the open mic, with Kevin Peterson as host.
