Upcoming Poetry Events – Week of June 23, 2013

Open Mic

Today is the first day of summer and the poetry and spoken word is already heating up the area. We have a lot to look forward to this summer. Poets in the Park in July and the National Poetry Slam in Boston and the WordXWord Festival in Pittsfield, both taking place in August. But first we have the last week of June featuring a full seven days of poetry and spoken word.

Here is what is coming up in Poetryland this week…

Sunday, June 23

Monday, June 24

Poets Speak Loud is Albany Poets’ monthly open mic for poetry and spoken word with a featured poet. This month the long-running open mic will be hosted by Avery and your featured poets will be Team Nitty Gritty 2013.

A new monthly poetry open mic hosted by D. Colin with a featured poet in beautiful downtown Troy. This month’s featured poet is Hawk T. Poet.

7:00pm – Writers Read
The Good Purpose Art Gallery and Starving Artist Cafe, 40 Main Street, Lee, MA
Writers Read is a monthly series of established poets and writers reading from their works. Each fourth Friday (with exception of November) will feature a poet and writer reading from their works for approximately 30 minutes each.

8:00pm – The Parlor Cafe Open Mic
