As National Poetry Month approaches, we have another great week of poetry events, readings, open mics, slams, and more in the area.

What a great week we have lined up here in our poetry community with featured poets Adriana Ramirez, Marc Spitz, Jared Paul, and much more.
We are kicking off National Poetry Month big with Poets Speak Loud on Monday, NGS on Tuesday, and Caffe Lena Poetry Open Mic on Wednesday.
Things are really heating up as we get closer to selecting the team to represent Albany and NGS at the National Poetry Slam in Oakland.
For one night only, Tuesday, March 18, Nitty Gritty Slam #66 will be at The Linda for the final Open Slam as we get closer to the Grand Slam.
On Tuesday, March 4 we are back at our new home, The Low Beat, for Nitty Gritty Slam #65, Albany’s one and only poetry slam series.

Jared Paul, who was last in town during his “Occupy Poetry Month” tour in April, is returning to Albany this coming Saturday at the Social Justice Center (33 Central Ave., Albany).
