Nitty Gritty Slam #65 – Closing in on the End of the Season

AP-Event-NGS-65

On Tuesday, March 4 we are back at our new home, The Low Beat (335 Central Ave., Albany), for the 65th edition of Nitty Gritty Slam, Albany’s one and only poetry slam series.

We had a great time at NGS #64 and were happy to see so many poets and friends come out and be part of the historic first night at the new venue. We are very excited to be back on the 4th for continue the incredible third season.

With only two more open slams before the semi-final on April 1 (with the incredible featured poet Jared Paul), things are really getting interesting.

So far three great poets, Kevin Peterson, Bless, and Poetyc Visionz, already punching their tickets to the Grand Slam in the spring. Right now, for the second half of the season, the top spot is firmly held my Algorhythm with Dan Wilcox, Samson, and Avery creeping up the points ladder.

Who will step up and wrestle the first place spot away from Algo? Who can jump ahead of the tied Dan and Samson? Who will fill out the Grand Slam lineup?

We have seen some new faces and returning friends at the shows in the past few weeks and have been excited to hear these voices take the stage. Who will enter the fray this time around and join us for another great night of poetry and spoken word?

The road to NPS 2014 has begun and there is still time to get on board. The next stop is NGS #65 at The Low Beat!

If you can’t make it out to the show that night, be sure to follow along on Twitter! We will be live tweeting pictures and results all night at @NittyGrittySlam and #NGS65.
