Poetry Workshop with Susan Comninos

Exploring Controllable Forms (in an uncontrollable time) Writing in verse forms – like sonnenizio, villanelle, pantoum and tricube – can be a powerful way for us to express and contain the often-uncontainable experience. It can also help us become more powerful and precise in our word choice. Join us on Thursday nights as we play with established poetry forms and have fun while making unexpected choices and discoveries about how we use language. Reading and discussing work by published poets, in addition to writing creatively, is a part of this course.

Susan Comninos is a widely published poet. Her creative work’s recently appeared in the Harvard Review Online, Rattle, The Common, Prairie Schooner and North American Review, among others. It’s also been shortlisted for both the Marystina Santiestevan First Book Prize and the Cider Press Review Book Award. She?s taught at Siena College, The College of St. Rose, and most recently, SUNY Albany.
