Four Poems – Daniel Moss

CCXXXIX

For every starlet.
That breaks my Heart.
There is a satisfying,
End. Like Breaking
Bread, With a Friend.
Who Loves. You.
Who Toasts. You.
Who Keeps. You.
Warm. With Jokes.
And Other Misdemeanors.
For the hope of seeing something
True.

There I am. In the
Bookstore. On
The Train,
At the Hookah.
Bar. At The Brunch,
And there she is,
Is Sometimes.
A waiter, With Tattoos.
And Hoop Earrings,
Sometimes.
As Twenty-something,
Years old,
With Cropped topped.
And Breasts that State.
Crimes.
Sometimes.

I am never there for them.
I am a shadow of Desire,
And that Means
I love them.
For a glance.
And hate everything
Else.

Pushing joy into the template of
Time. To
Be lost
In bedsheets,
And the arrival of
the Sun.

CCXXII

I like
To Think.
That.
There Is Sometimes.
The World.
It is there.
And Then,
You Think.
Yes, There
I am From.
That is me.
That Little Speck.
That Little Tiny
Piece of Pecker Wood.
That I am
I am
There,

Sure
The World
Goes by.
Do you.
And Then,
I thought.
Why.
There Is.
That.

CCXXI

I had,
A Lot of
Goddddddddddddo
Good.
Qualities,
When I Was
Younger.
I thought,
I could Fly.
I thought
Friendships,
Last.
Regardless.
Of Where You Live.
I thought
Parents,
Die.
But They Really
Live Forever.
I thought
Time
Was a Chess Piece,
It is a Piece of Pie.

But There
Is One Thought,
That
Sticks.
With Me.
With My Pain,
And the
Suffering,
It Loves.
It’s
That I
Can Be
Loved.
I can Be.

CCXX

What do I consume
In Life.
Is it the
Being,
That Is
The Designation.
Of what I
Want. Or
Some Other,
Dungeon.
That Is
The Sense
Of How
I Belong?

Could
It be.
Something,
That
Is Not.
What
It Seems.
Could
It be
Something
I have
In Common.
With You?
