The Garrison Institute is a local non-profit retreat center, dedicated to creating a more resilient future. They are increasing their arts programming and have been actively working with poets and writers to create new retreats and events.

This workshop will examine how loneliness and belonging both affect a writer and the writing experience.
“Every life is a mixture of shadow and light, loneliness and belonging, disconnection and communion with self and others. In this writing workshop we will explore what is gained, and potentially lost, in the ebb and flow of these experiences, and we’ll offer tools to help us flow between the states of loneliness and belonging with a bit more clarity, calm, curiosity, and humor.”
We also have a Mark Nepo event and a Mark Nepo retreat coming up.
The event is free and open to the public, and precludes the longer retreat at the Garrison Institute.
