We have been going through the archives here at Albany Poets HQ and came across this great CD, Volume: A Compilation of Poets, Live, from 1995 that was produced by Mary Panza and Steve Clark chronicling the poetry scene at the time at such venues as the QE2, Margarita’s, and Borders. The poets on this CD are a who’s-who of the Albany poetry community when it was just starting out in the early 1990’s. Poets from the recording that are still active at the open mics and readings now include R.M. Engelhart, Dan Wilcox, Don Levy, Joe Hollander, and Anthony Bernini, all were at the Poets Speak Loud open mic last week. Some others have gone on to different, distant locations, both here on Earth and beyond, but they will always be with us.
