
Upcoming Poetry Events – Week of December 14, 2014
Another great lineup of spoken word this week with seven days of poetry readings, slams & open mics with great features all over the region.
Adam Tedesco has worked as a shipbuilder, a meditation instructor, and as cultural critic for the now disbanded Maoist Internationalist Movement. He conducts interviews and analyzes dreams for the online literary journal Drunk In A Midnight Choir. His recent work has appeared or is forthcoming in Funhouse, Souvenir, Cosmonauts Avenue, Hobart, The Nervous Breakdown, and elsewhere.

The start of our 5th year at the Arts Center of the Capital Region, with my co-host Nancy Klepsch, down the hall in the conference room.
Dan Wilcox made it down to the Poets Speak Loud open mic at McGeary’s just in time for a great night of spoken word featuring Andy Clausen.
As I’ve said ad nauseam, “if your family & friends don’t come to your readings who will?” Samson Dikeman, did just that for his reading.
When the first Word Fest happened in 2001 it was an open mic. Since then Word Fest has grown & changed, but the one constant is the annual Word Fest Open Mic.
The kick-off, the 1st round, the ceremonial 1st pitch, the launch of Up the River, the opening lines of Word Fest in the backroom of McGeary’s.
Some poets know how to do it right – Adam Tedesco, tonight’s feature, packed the audience with his wife, mother & an assortment of friends.
Word Fest week is here! We have a week’s worth of poetry & spoken word events lined up. Plus, there are open mics & reading taking place all over the area.
Dan WIlcox was back in Albany, at McGeary’s, for the open mic. It was supposed to be a “roast” of Mary Panza, but that was postponed until the Fall.
We are just over a week away from the Albany Word Fest and we have a lot of poetry and spoken word lined up as we celebrate National Poetry Month.
We are now within two weeks until the 2014 Albany Word Fest, our celebration of National Poetry Month and the poetry and spoken word of upstate NY.
