Third Thursday Poetry Night Featuring Suzanne Rancourt

Poet Suzanne S. Rancourt will read from her work at the Social Justice Center, 33 Central Ave., Albany on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at 7:30PM, with an open mic for community poets.

Suzanne S. Rancourt is an award-winning, internationally published author of four books: Songs of Archilochus (Unsolicited Press, 2023), Old Stones, New Roads, (MSR Pub., 2021), murmurs at the gate, (Unsolicited Press, 2019), Billboard in the Clouds, (Curbstone Press, 2004; 2nd printing NU Press). She is a USMC and Army Veteran.

The event will include the annual Holiday visit from Sanity Clause with a gift of poetry for those who read in the open mic.

A reading by a local or regional poet/writer has been held since July 2006, each Third Thursday at the Social Justice Center.  The event includes an open mic for audience members to read. Sign-up starts at 7:00 PM, with the reading beginning at 7:30.  The host of the readings is Albany poet and photographer Dan Wilcox.  The suggested donation is $5.00, which helps support this and other poetry programs of the Poetry Motel Foundation, and the work of the Social Justice Center.
