Ellen White Rook

Create a Word Sculpture Workshop with Ellen White Rook

Create a Word Sculpture Workshop will be presented by Ellen White Rook at the Bach Branch of the Albany Public Library on Sunday, April  21 at 1:30 PM. Free.

Following the guidelines of Beat poet Michael McClure, workshop participants will choose 100 words that represent their personal universe–past, present, and future. They will then create a Personal Universe Card Deck to use as inspiration to create stories, poems, essays, and riddles. The fifty-card deck can even be used to play games and ask questions about the future. Suitable for writers of any genre and every level. Cards and markers will be provided.

Ellen White Rook is a poet, writer, and contemplative arts teacher who divides her time between upstate New York and Maine. Retired from a career as an information technology manager with the State of New York, she offers writing workshops and leads retreats that combine meditation, movement, and writing.
