The Hudson Valley Writers Guild announces a reading by three local writers in its Community of Writers series. The reading by journalist Steve Barnes, poet/activist Nancy Klepsch and novelist Tom Swyers will be on Sunday, March 26, from 2-4 p.m. in the second floor Community Room at the Albany Public Library, 161 Washington Avenue, Albany. The reading is free and open to the public.
The Guild’s Board is most grateful for the confidence expressed by the ongoing support of new and renewing members for the Hudson Valley Writers Guild and the work it does on behalf of writers living in New York’s Hudson River Valley.
The Hudson Valley Writers Guild will hold its annual meeting on Sunday, November 13, at the William K. Sanford Town Library (Colonie), 629 Albany Shaker Road, from 2-4 p.m. The meeting is open to the public (members and non-members alike).
Faith Green, chair of the 2016 Hudson Valley Writers Guild Short Fiction Contest, has announced the contest winners. They are “Necessity” by Mary Cuffe Perez (1st Place), “The Master Bedroom” by Richard Gotti (2nd Place) and “Inviting Mabel to Dinner” by Deyva Arthur (3rd Place).
On November 20, the Hudson Valley Writers Guild and Schenectady Public Library Schenectady Friends of the Library Program will host the Annual Schenectady “Community of Writers” group reading.
The HVWG will hold our annual meeting on Sunday, November 13, at the William K. Sanford Town Library (Colonie), 629 Albany Shaker Road, from 2-4 p.m.
The HVWG newsletter is one of a number of activities that our members support with annual membership fees, including our annual writer’s contest and many area events.
By the end of June 2016, the Hudson Valley Writers Guild had 118 active members, people who’d paid their membership dues in 2015 and 2016.
Who says there are no “second chances” in life? The deadline for the 2016 HVWG short fiction contest has been extended to August 15.
