Caffe Lena Poetry Open Mic Featuring Stuart Bartow and Liv McKee

On Wednesday, December 4, Caffè Lena will present poetry readings by Stuart Bartow and Liv McKee. An open reading will follow. Doors open for sign-ups at 7pm and the readings will start at 7:30. The host for the event will be guest hosted David Graham and the cost is $5 general, free for students

Stuart Bartow teaches writing and literature Adirondack. His latest books of poetry, Einstein’s Lawn (co-winner of the Adirondack Center for Writing Poetry Award) and Green Midnight, are published by Dos Madres Press. He is also author of Teaching Trout to Talk: the Zen of Small Stream Fly Fishing, a book of lyric essays (winner of the ACW non-fiction award), and his first collection of haiku, Quaking Marsh, is published by Red Moon Press. He is chair of the Battenkill Conservancy, an environmental group working along the Vermont—New York border.

Liv McKee is a performing artist living in Troy, New York. Specializing in both dance and poetry, she has been commissioned to choreograph, create, and teach in many settings. Liv was a 2018 National Poetry Slam Team Piece Finalist, and has represented Albany at both the Individual World and the Women of the World Poetry Slams. She was a semifinalist in this year’s Button Poetry Chapbook Contest, and a finalist in both the 2017 and 2018 DiBiase Poetry Contests. Her work is published or forthcoming in Winter Tangerine, A Whore’s Manifesto, Write About Now!, and her two self-released chapbooks honey at the corners of her mouths and BULB.
