The Hudson Valley Writers Guild will offer a free conference for writers on Sunday November 2, 2 – 4 pm at the East Greenbush Community Library, 10 Community Way, East Greenbush, NY. The program is free but registration is requested; call the library at 518-477-7476.
A panel will address the topic on “Getting Started – The Path to Publishing,” featuring area writers Susanne Alleyn, author of works on the French Revolution; Julie Lomoe, author of psychological suspense novels, M.E.Kemp, author of historical mysteries set in Colonial Boston and Jessika Hazelton of the Troy Bookmakers.
The main speaker for the event is Robyn Ringler, writer, teacher and activist, who will speak on: “The Desire to Publish: How You Can Make Things Happen.”
Robyn Ringler is a writer, nurse, lawyer and the owner of East Line Literary Arts where she teaches creative writing and runs an editing business. Her articles have appeared in the Albany Times-Union, Newark Star-Ledger and sent out over the New York Times wire. Robyn’s “Letter To Al Pacino” appears in “Women’s Letters: America from the Revolutionary War to the Present.” Her essay “Dissection” was published in “Stories of Illness and Healing:Women Write Their Bodies” (Kent State U. Press.) She writes for “Nursing Spectrum” and her essays have been read on WAMC’S “Round Table” and NPR’s “51%” and “The Health Show,” as well as Martha Stewart Radio.
