Cheryl A. Rice will be leading a new Random Writing Workshop on April 13, 2024, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm in Kingston, NY.

Participants will be given a series of prompts that will provoke the question, ‘what happens next?’ There will then be time to create a rough draft for a poem, and share new work with others. Various standard RANDOM WRITING techniques will be employed as well.

RANDOM WRITING workshops contain four primary elements to grow your poetry practice: Inspiration, Word Play, Text Deconstruction, and Peer Response.

The cost is $75 per person, with tea and coffee provided. A brown bag lunch or patronizing the many wonderful local eateries in uptown Kingston is suggested. Refunds are available for cancellations at least 24 hours in advance, minus a $10 fee.

The exact address of the workshop will be provided once registration and payment is made. On street parking is available.

**Twice a Best of the Net nominee, Cheryl A. Rice’s publications include Dressing for the Unbearable (Flying Monkey Press), and Love’s Compass (Kung Fu Treachery Press). A featured reader from Saratoga to Manhattan, she is also the founder/ host of the now defunct Sylvia Plath Bake-Off . Rice holds a BS from SUNY New Paltz and half an MS from the University of Albany. Her birth on Long Island coincided with the Cuban Missile Crisis.**
