On Wednesday, November 13, Schenectady’s 2nd Wednesday open mic series will feature Ken Holland and Mike Jurkovic at C.R.E.A.T.E. Community Studios, a center for expressive arts on 137 State Street. Bring a page or two of poetry or prose to share at the open mic, or settle back and listen to the show.
Poetry by Ken Holland has appeared in dozens of respected journals, including Confrontation, Rattle, The Cortland Review, The Antigonish Review, Wisconsin Review, Inscape, and Carolina Quarterly. A Pushcart nominee, he won first place in the 2019 Stephen DiBiase poetry contest. Ken lives in Fishkill, New York.
Mike Jurkovic is President of the Calling All Poets reading series in the Hudson Valley and the Tuesday night host of Jazz Sanctuary, WOOC 105.3 FM, Troy, NY. He’s the author of the full-length collections Blue Fan Whirring, Smitten by Harpies, and Shiny Banjo Catfish, and the chapbook Eve’s Venom. A Pushcart nominee, Mike’s poetry also appears in many journals and anthologies.
