Julie Salamon will speak and sign copies of her book, “An Innocent Bystander: The Killing of Leon Klinghoffer,” on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2019, at 6 p.m. in Bush Memorial Center, Russell Sage College, 65 1st Street, Troy, N.Y.
Salamon accessed newly unclassified materials to write “An Innocent Bystander,” which tells the story of the 1985 hijacking of the Cruise Ship Achille Lauro. Publishers Weekly described the book as “the most in-depth look at the hijacking to date.”
Salamon is well known for her writing on show business, philanthropy, the Holocaust, the insanity defense and modern medical care. Her books, including the international best-seller “The Devil’s Candy” and the New York Times best-selling biography of playwright Wendy Wasserstein, “Wendy and the Lost Boys,” have received wide critical and popular attention. Her talk at Sage is supported by the Chapman Lecture Fund.
The event is free and open to the public.
