Caffe Lena Poetry Open Mic featuring Katrinka Moore

On Wednesday, May 1, Caffè Lena will present a poetry reading by Katrinka Moore with Michael Lawrence accompanying her on guitar.   An open reading will follow.

On Wednesday, May 1, Caffè Lena will present a poetry reading by Katrinka Moore with Michael Lawrence accompanying her on guitar.   An open reading will follow. Doors open for sign-ups at 7pm and the readings will start at 7:30. The host for the event will be Carol Graser and the cost is $5 general, free for students

Katrinka Moore started out in dance and choreography, made a brief foray into performance art, then shifted to poetry, eventually bringing visual components into her work. She is the author of Wayfarers, NumaThief, and This is Not a Story, winner of the New Women’s Voices prize. Katrinka will read poems of light and shadow, some set to music, accompanied by Michael Lawrence on guitar.

Michael Lawrence has been a performance art musician and dancer, a guitarist with the band Larry and the Loosers, and a high school physics teacher.  In 2015 he received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching and got to shake Barack Obama’s hand.
