The New York State Writers Institute announces job openings for two positions: Program Coordinator and Communications Specialist.

The Program Coordinator will manage administrative support functions and event planning for the New York State Writers Institute’s full range of sponsored programs. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to collaborate with University faculty, staff, and students, as well as community members to advance the goals of the Institute. The candidate must possess a wide range of computer, writing, administrative, organizational, and interpersonal skills. The candidate is required to work flexible hours, including evenings and the occasional weekend.

The Communications Specialist will be responsible for creating and managing the print and digital public relations/marketing/social media efforts of the NYS Writers Institute. The candidate will build the Institute’s brand, coordinate all external communications, and develop communication strategies to reach the Institute’s existing audiences and build new audiences. The candidate is required to work flexible hours, including evenings and the occasional weekend.
