Local writers, HVWG is conducting a survey to assess interest in — and help shape — future workshops. You can access the survey here. Please let the Guild know what kind of workshops you’d like to see in the coming year. Part of the plan is to have a day-long series of workshops with an author fair during Fall 2017.

2025 HVWG Nonfiction Contest
The Hudson Valley Writers Guild is now accepting submissions for our 2025 HVWG Nonfiction Contest.
It’s hard for me to attend workshops in general, due to family and work, but poetry is always good 🙂
I would be interested in hearing from local college professors and instructors on the business and art of self-publishing, paperbacks and ebooks
Regular access to an interactive community of writers with a variable focus is far more important to me than workshops, which I see as more of an academic thing. There are plenty of workshop opportunities and lots of venues to present work. What’s missing are open discussion forums focused on writing and writer’s issues. I’d like us to fill that gap using both virtual and real meeting rooms. I’m developing a proposal for the next board meetig.
