On Sunday, January 29, poets will gather at Old Songs to celebrate the launch of Howard Kogan’s new book, A Chill in the Air.
The gig will begin at 3 p.m. with a toast to the bard and a treat or two to boot. There will be an open mic, but poets will be limited to one poem that focuses on the theme of the book, as in: Is your air chilly? Howard will then read from the magnum opus.
Some may wish to repair to Smitty’s afterward, which — as is well known by now — will close within the next year. That seems to be the timetable. A new Stewart’s is being planned for the site.
The Poet of the Month — and final poet in the POETS’ CORNER — will be Tom Corrado with his “WOMAN XLVII.”
Come on out and celebrate the new year with Howard and friends.
