Yes! Presents Reality Beach

Adam TedescoThe Yes! Poetry & Performance Series pressents REALITY BEACH. Guest curators Adam Tedesco and Anna Kreienberg will present poets Sommer Browning, Bill Lessard, and Shawn Berman. Plus, plus, projections from the latest issue this Saturday, November 5th at 7:00 PM at Albany Center Gallery.

Sommer Browning is the author of two books of poetry, most recently Backup Singers (Birds, LLC; 2014), a few jokes books, most recently You’re On My Period (Counterpath, 2016), and an artist book called The Circle Book (Cuneiform, 2015). She is a librarian and co-hosts The Leon Affair, a reading series in Denver, with Elisa Gabbert and Derrick Mund.

William Lessard has writing that has appeared in McSweeney’s, NPR, Prelude, Wired, Hyperallergic, People Holding, Fanzine, and elsewhere. His chapbook Rembrandt with Cell Phone is available from Reality Beach. He co-hosts the Cool as F*** series in Brooklyn.

Shawn Berman is a warm beer. Shawn Berman is a strip club on a Monday afternoon. Shawn Berman is Leonardo DiCaprio’s stuntman. Shawn Berman has work featured in Drunk Monkeys, Reality Beach, Maudlin House, and Potluck Magazine. Shawn Berman can be followed on Twitter @ramonbermanez.

Albany Center Gallery is a community-based and community supported non-profit art space dedicated to exhibiting skillful contemporary art of the Mohawk Hudson region, and building a strong, knowledgeable audience for the visual arts.

The Yes! Poetry & Performance Series is thankful for the support of The Hudson Valley Writer’s Guild. The HVWG supports the efforts of writers in all genres by sponsoring readings, workshops and contests and providing a number of valuable resources for the entire literary community. Though their headquarters is in Troy, New York, they serve Albany and Schenectady, as well, along with outlying suburbs and towns in New York’s Capital Region.
