The Albany Poets Interview – R.M. Engelhardt

In our conversation we talk with R.M. Engelhardt about writing, open mics, hosting his own events, and the “Create The Book” project.

In the first Albany Poets Interview, we talk with R.M. Engelhardt about writing and coming out to poetry open mics at the QE2 and Borders in the 1990s and when and why we started hosting his own readings like School of Night and VoX. Then we touch on his new “Create The Book” project, which is about giving poets a chance to publish and sell their own books.

Bonus track

R.M. Engelhardt reading “DeGeneration” (1/25/1995) at the Borders Open Mic from the CD, “Volume: A Compilation of Poets, Live”, from 1995 that was produced by Mary Panza and Steve Clark chronicling the poetry scene at the time at such venues as the QE2, Margarita’s, and Borders.
