A lot going on this coming week in the Northeast. There are a lot of opportunities to get involved in the poetry and spoken word community almost every day next week stating with Monday’s Club Harmony open mic in Woodstock and wrapping up with the first Poets in the Park reading on Saturday in Washington Park.

Northampton’s only weekly open mic poetry night offers some of the best, most creative voices in the county. Every Tuesday night at 8:00pm. Come down and listen. Come down and share your words. Academic or slam, spoken word or political: Your words are welcome. Every show features an open mic reading and a featured poet. Sometimes we all get rowdy and slam. All ages welcome. Poets in the Park is a long-running summertime poetry reading series that takes place on Saturdays in July at the Robert Burns statue, Washington Park, Albany at Henry Johnson Blvd. & Hudson Ave. The featured poets for the first Poets in the Park for 2013 are Elizabeth K. Gordon and Dennis Sullivan
