We are now a little over a week until the 2013 Albany Word Fest and we are starting to feel the excitement around the area. But before we start Word Fest week on Sunday, April 14, we have a week of poetry and spoken word events and reading coming up with the last Frequency North reading of the season and the resurrection of The School of Night open mic series.

Host R.M. Engelhardt is bringing back the monthly “School of Night” poetry open mic series for “poets, poetry and spoken word” at the Pearl St. Pub & Dirty Martini Lounge.
7:30pm – Frequency North
Standish Rooms, Events and Athletics Center, 420 Western Ave., Albany, NY
Meg Kearney and M. Bartley Seigel will be reading their work at the last FQN of the season. Frequency North calls itself “aggressively eclectic.” Events at Frequency North feature fiction writers, memoirists, graphic novelists, poets, slam performers, singer-songwriters, even game shows. All readings are free and are open to the public. Frequency North also regularly co-presents events both on-campus and in the community. The reading is free and open to the public. Copies of the authors’ latest works will be available for purchase and signing.
8:00pm – Starving Artist Thursdays
