First Friday Poetry Open Mic at the Albany Public Library

Chad Lowther

Chad Lowther and our friends at the Albany Public Library (home of the 2012 Albany Word Fest Open Mic last spring) will be hosting a brand new poetry open mic series as part of the 1st Friday arts walk each month starting next Friday, March 1.

Albany Public Library will be hosting an Open Mic for 1st Friday (3/1) at the Main Branch (161 Washington Avenue, next to the Armory). In addition to open mic performances, we’ll be featuring the work of local mixed-media artist Audrie Elsenbeck (which will remain on display in the Library for the duration of the month). Art, performance, and free refreshments! We’re hoping for a large turnout so that we can justify making this a regular event. All poets, spoken-word performers and musicians are urged to attend! The event will run from 6:15 pm to 8 pm, and sign-up will begin shortly after the Library closes (at 6pm). Please let me know if you have any questions about the event, or feel free to contact Sarah Clark at (518) 427-4349.
