Two of the institutions of the upstate poetry world are the Woodstock Poetry Society and Home Planet News. Tomorrow afternoon starting at 2:00 pm Phillip Levine will be hosting a very special afternoon of poetry to benefit the long-running poetry publication. The list of poets who are going to be a part of this event is a who’s who of the great talent in the poetry community.

Woodstock Poetry Society & Festival as part of the Woodstock Arts Consortium is sponsoring the following poetry event as part of the Woodstock “Second Saturdays” Art Events. For a full listing of “Second Saturday” events, see: www.artsinwoodstock.org.

A benefit for Home Planet News, along with an open mike and the (short) Annual Business & Planning Meeting when the Woodstock Poetry Society & Festival meets at the Colony Cafe, 22 Rock City Road, on Saturday, January 12th at 2pm. Note: WPS&F meetings are held the 2nd Saturday of every month.

This is an open poetry reading featuring all or some of the Hudson Valley area poets who have work in Issue #66, namely Nina Jecker Byrne, Andy Clausen, Paul R. Clemente, Teresa Marta Costa, Roberta Gould, Phillip X Levine, Eugenia Macer-Story, Georganna Millman, normal, Kenneth Salzmann, Rebecca Schumejda, William Seaton, Sparrow, Victoria Sullivan, Bruce Weber, R. Dionysius Whiteurs, and Peter Lamborn Wilson.

The event will be hosted by editor Donald Lev and WPS president Phillip X Levine. Suggested donation $5. Copies of Home Planet News #66 will be available free of charge.
