The first poetry event of 2013 in the area is NGS #34 tonight at Valentine’s but tomorrow night up in Saratoga is the second poetry event of the new year at Caffe Lena with two incredible poets; Tess Lecuyer and Cheryl Rice.

Happy New Year! Isn’t one of your new years resolutions to try and get to poetry at Caffe Lena this year? You can start tomorrow night! Jan. 2, Tess Lecuyer and Cheryl Rice will be the featured poets at Caffe Lena. The doors open at 7 for open mic sign ups and the reading starts at 7:30. I hope you can make it!
Tess Lecuyer is an Albany area native who started out at the QE2 open mics. Her chapbook, Loping Through the Fields, was published by Kew Gardens Press. She has been published in numerous periodicals including as The Snail’s Pace Review, 13th Moon, and Confluence, particularly loves the live stage, where you might even hear her reading sonnets.
Cheryl A. Rice’s work has appeared in publications up and down the East Coast and in several anthologies. She has published several chapbooks, starting with 1997’s A Thousand Candy Vaginas (Palaver), to her most recent, Outside (Flying Monkey Press, 2011). Cheryl is the founder and host of the Sylvia Plath Bake-Off. She has held her RANDOM WRITING workshops throughout the Hudson Valley, where she has lived for over 30 years, after growing up on Long Island.
