We are gearing up for another big week of poetry and spoken word in the area with seven full days of events and open mics as long as the “storm of the century” does not complicate things. Albany Poets has two events back-to-back this coming week with Poets Speak Loud on Monday night featuring Bryan Roessel and then the next night we return to Valentine’s for NGS #29. This time around we are having our first 5th Tuesday edition of the slam with a special theme night: Inappropriate Slam!

Albany Poets, Urban Guerilla Theatre, and The Frequency North Reading Series are bringing slam back to Albany with the NITTY GRITTY SLAM on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday’s of each month. If you’re not into slam, but want to get on stage and share your work, we have an open mic before the slam. Sign up begins at 7PM, open mic starts at 7:30, and the slam starts at 8PM. Admission is $5.00 ($3.00 with student ID).
