Caffe Lena Poetry Open Mic Featuring The WomanWords Collective

Marilyn Zembo Day

What a great way to start spring and National Poetry Month up in Saratoga Springs. The WomanWords Collective will be the featured poets this month at the Caffe Lena Poetry Open Mic this coming Wednesday, April 4.  This group of women have been writing together for number of years and are consistently some of the best poets in the area. This will be a great opportunity to experience their work in one place.

Host Carol Graser sent along the following info:

This month we are celebrating, honoring and woo-hooing the 15th Anniversary of Marilyn Day‘s WomanWords Collective!! Over the course of it’s 15 year history, WomanWords collective has grown from a small, Albany-based writers group to a wide-reaching network that nurtures the talents of women writers through readings, discussion groups, workshops and writing retreats. For this anniversary celebration, founder and facilitator Marilyn Zembo Day will share some of her writing, along with Kittie Bintz, Kristen Day, Kelly de la Rocha, Mary Armao McCarthy, Leslie Neustadt, Judith Prest and Lesley Tabor. Come enjoy a variety of voices, a plethora of words – and maybe even a little birthday (cup)cake!
