National Poetry Month begins in a few short days and so far we have announced a few special events that are happening in the area to celebrate including the Saturday readings in Saratoga, The April edition of COW, and of course, the Albany Word Fest. The Art Society of Kingston will be josting their annual “100 Poems in 100 Minutes” reading on Friday, April 13.

Lovers of poetry and writers of poems are invited to participate in the third annual 100 Poems in 100 Minutes event at the Arts Society of Kingston, 97 Broadway in the Rondout section of Kingston, on Friday, April 13th, at 7:30 p.m.
Presented in honor of National Poetry Month, the event will begin at 7:00 with sign-up and a reception, followed by the reading at 7:30. Readers may read their own poems or other poems from any source, but all poems must take less than a minute to read (timing will be strictly observed). Depending on the number of readers, each reader will have a number of opportunities to read. For example, if 25 readers participate, each will read 4 times.
A suggested donation of $5 will be requested of all who attend. For further information, consult the ASK website at askforarts.org.
