Tomorrow night we are coming back to Valentines for the next edition of Nitty Gritty Slam. This is the sixth installment of the new slam series in Albany and the talent and excitement is getting better and better each time. Dain Brammage and Mojavi have been doing some great things over the past couple of months to make this a great night of spoken word.
Here is the information from the Facebook event page:
Come out and join us for the next installment of the Nitty Gritty Slam at Valentines. We have had some fantastic talent on the stage so far and the next winner could be you!
Shannon Shoemaker came in first place at NGS #5 with Kevin Peterson coming in a very close second and Poetyc Vyzonz taking third.
Urban Guerilla Theatre, Albany Poets, and The Frequency North Reading Series are bringing slam back to Albany with the NITTY GRITTY SLAM twice a month at Valentines hosted by Dain Brammage and Mojavi.

Sign up begins at 7:00PM, open mic starts at 7:30PM, and the slam starts at 8:00PM.
Admission is $5.00 ($3.00 with student ID)
NITTY GRITTY SLAM takes place at Valentines (17 New Scotland Ave.) on the first and third Tuesday’s of each and every month.
Will Shannon win again? Will someone else step up and take the first place prize? Come on out to Valentines and see for your self!
