What a great night of poetry and spoken word at Valentines! The sixth installment of the Nitty Gritty Slam was a fantastic showcase of the local talent that exists here in upstate New York. We started off the night with Dan Wilcox, Kevin Peterson (with a brand new stage name), Elizag, Jessica Layton, Mojavi, and Daniel Nester stepping up to the open mic. Then Dain Brammage took over the hosting duties, read one his own poems, and then went into the slam.
Once again the scores were very close and we even had a three-way tie for fourth place going into the second round. Here is how the evening shook out with the winner, when all was said and done, being none other than ILLiptical.
