Phillip Levine is one busy guy down in the Hudson Valley between being the poetry editor of Chronogram and hosting two poetry events in the area, the COW in Kingston and the Woodstock Poetry Society readings in Woodstock. He sent along the following announcement of the reading this coming Saturday at the Colony Cafe featuring Teresa Marta Costa and Victoria Sullivan.

Note the venue – until further notice we will be at the Colony Cafe (22 Rock City Road). One exception: in November we will be at a special location, the Eames House (Woodstock Historical Society’s location at 20 Comeau Drive, and beginning at 12 noon, through 4pm)

Poets Teresa M. Costa and Victoria Sullivan will be the featured readers when the Woodstock Poetry Society & Festival meets at the Colony Cafe, 22 Rock City Road, on Saturday, October 8th, 2011 at 2pm. Note: WPS&F meetings are held the 2nd Saturday of every month. (note: Bobbi Katz who was previously scheduled has had to postpone to May 12th, 2012.)
The readings will be hosted by Woodstock area poet Phillip Levine. All meetings are free, open to the public, and include an open mike.
Teresa M. Costa – Teresa Marta Costa: Brooklyn born, Catskill Mountain bred. Has lived in Ulster County for 45 years. High School graduate. She has featured extensively through-out the Hudson Valley, & various other places including the west coast of the USA. Hosts poetry readings at The Bohemian Book Bin, in Lake Katrine, NY. Published: Wildflowers; An Anthology (Shivastan Press, Woodstock, NY), Home Planet News, Chronogram, Stained Sheets, Riverine; An Hudson Valley Anthology, (Codhill Press) – amongst a bunch of other places. Her cd Certain Forces is available. Self-published 4 chapbooks amongst a few other places. She tends more to public readings, than to sending her babies out for publication – which most likely will change as Costa is in the process of re-organizing her children. Currently in process working on books to be published later this year… Costa resides in Ulster County w/her husband & various critters & creatures of variable dimensions. Victoria Sullivan – Victoria Sullivan is both a poet and a playwright. She has performed her poetry in numerous venues in New York City, Ulster County, California, Florida, here and there, and Cairo, Egypt, as well as on radio and television. Her third chapbook, Eating Figs At Twilight won the Edda Poetry Chapbook Competition for Women of the Sarasota Poetry Theatre Press. Her two prior chapbooks are Alzheimer Dreams (Red Parrot Press, 2002) and The Divided Bed (Hatch-Billops Collection, 1982). Her poetry has appeared in numerous journals, including /Artist and Influence, /Wildflower, /Poetry in Performance, /Medicinal Purposes, The Same, Northeast Corridor, and in the book When A Life Mate Dies (1997).
Sullivan has had seven Equity productions of her plays in New York City. Having been a member of Hypothetical Theatre Co. and American Renaissance Theater Co., she is currently active in the playwrights unit of the Woodstock Fringe. Sullivan also co-hosts the radio show, “The Woodstock Roundtable” with Doug Grunther once a month. And she will be appearing as the artist Peggy Bacon in a reading at WAAM on Sunday Oct. 9 at 2 PM.
