Caffè Lena to feature poets Judith Prest and Mike Jurkovic December 7

On Wednesday, December 7, Caffè Lena will present poetry readings by Judith Prest and Mike Jurkovic at Ndakinna Education Center. An open reading will follow. Doors open for sign-ups at 7 p.m., and the readings will start at 7:30. The host for the event will be Carol Graser, and the cost is $5. Ndakinna Education Center is located at 23 Middle Grove Road in Greenfield.

Judith Prest is a poet, photographer, mixed media artist and creativity coach.. Her poems have been published in Mad Poet’s Review, Chronogram, Akros Review, The Muse~An International Journal of Poetry, Earth’s Daughters, Up The River, Upstream and in seven anthologies. She has previously published two collections of poetry (Sailing On Spirit Wind, 1998; and Late Day Light, 2011), as well as two chapbooks (Wildwoman’s Scrapbook, 2002; and The Geography of Loss, 2006). Judith lives in Duanesburg, New York, with her husband, Alan Krieger, and three cats. Her website is www.spiritwindstudio.net.

A 2016 Pushcart nominee, Mike Jurkovic’s has published poetry and musical criticism in over 400 magazines and periodicals.. but generated no reportable income. His first full-length collection, smitten by harpies, was published by Lion Autumn Press earlier this year. He has published two chapbooks: Eve’s Venom (Post Traumatic Press, 2014) and Purgatory Road (Pudding House Press, 2010), and his work has appeared in the anthologies WaterWrites & Riverine (Codhill Press, 2009 and 2007) and Will Work For Peace (Zeropanik, 1999). His music features, interviews and CD reviews appear in Elmore Magazine and the Van Wyck Gazette.
