Bringing poetry to homebound seniors throughout the Capital Region

Capital Region Poems on Wheels, a Hudson Valley Writers Guild project, offers cultural nourishment through poetry to over 2,000 homebound, disabled, and elderly recipients of meal delivery programs in New York’s Albany, Schenectady, Saratoga, and Warren Counties. The quarterly inclusion of a Poem Card with a hot meal augments the moment of personal connection that nourishes a population that too often suffers from boredom and social isolation.
