Tribute to Russell Banks
Join us at the Albany Book Festival for a tribute to the late Russell Banks, major American novelist, who died January 7, 2023, at his home in Saratoga Springs.
Russell was a beloved member of the American literary community, a frequent guest of the NYS Writers Institute, the official New York State Author from 2004 to 2008, and a longtime friend of our founder, William Kennedy.
Stories and remembrances by Kennedy, Andre Dubus III, Jennifer Haigh, Annie Proulx, and Nell Irvin Painter. Moderated by Writers Institute Director Paul Grondahl.
