Signing and Reading of Time and Place * West and East
Signing and Reading:
Time and Place * West and East focuses on the two regions of the country where we’ve spent our lives, its overarching subject the inspiring and troubling literal and metaphorical relationships between the natural and human worlds. Nature is described, portrayed, interpreted in a variety of forms with a variety of views from a variety of perspectives from backyard gardens to country villages, to local and regional preserves, woodlands, forests, mountains, rivers, lakes, and oceans. Poems and photographs talk to each other in many ways on facing pages to emphasize what we believe is nature’s most profound lesson: that in our complicated, diverse, sometimes frightening world we can find peace of mind from accepting life as a complete and gratifying experience of birth, of growth, and of death.
The book of 75 poems and 76 photographs is available from Shanti Arts Publishing. Please visit our website for samplings of it and more: www.two-lenses.com
