Prose Writers Showcase
Hudson Valley Writers Guild presents PROSE WRITERS SHOWCASE featuring novelist, translator, & editor IAN ROSS SINGLETON, writer & editor CHRISTY O’CALLAGHAN, and author KEITH W. WILLIS.
Ian Ross Singleton is a writer of fiction and criticism and a translator of Russian and Ukrainian literature. He teaches Writing and Critical Inquiry at SUNY Albany and serves as the Nonfiction Editor of Asymptote. His debut novel Two Big Differences, about the Ukrainian Revolution of Dignity, came out in 2021 and can be found at 2bigdifferences.page
Christy O’Callaghan is a writer and developmental editor with an MA in English from SUNY Albany. She is the former editor-in-chief for Barzakh Lit Mag and is now on the editorial staff with New American Press and West Trade Review. She served on the jury to select the 2023 NY State Author and is the 2023 SUNY Thayer Arts Fellowship finalist for writing. She spent twenty-two years as a community organizer and educator. Christy loves strange stories, plants, and lore. Her work has appeared in The Los Angeles Review, Great Weather for Media, Splash! with Haunted Waters Press, Flyway Journal, Trolley Journal, Under the Gumtree, Chestnut Review, and more.
Keith W. Willis graduated (long ago) with a degree in English Lit from Berry College, which has the distinction of being the world’s largest college campus. He now lives in the scenic Hudson Valley/Adirondack region of NY with his wife Patty. Keith is certain those rumbling noises attributed to Henry Hudson’s crew are really just the dragons grumbling.
This event will feature selections read by the writers, followed by a Q&A with the audience.
Free and open to the public.
