Poetry/Storytelling Open Mic

Please join us for Saratoga Senior Center’s poetry/storytelling open mic!

Featuring Poet David Graham, author of 6 collections of poetry, most recently The Honey of Earth from Terrapin Books

Maybe you have been to or heard about Caffe Lena’s iconic poetry open mic. Our open mic will follow a similar format, but will be held once a month on a Friday afternoon. No need to drive at night or scramble for a parking place!

The program will start off with a reading by a well-known local poet or storyteller, followed by an open mic. Each open mic participant has 5 minutes to read 2 short poems or one long one; storytellers have 5 minutes to tell, narrate or perform their piece.

When you share your work, you are helping keep literature alive in our community. We are a supportive, affirming, and non-threatening audience, so don’t be afraid to come out and give this a try.

RSVP by calling 518-584-1621. Light refreshments will be served. Suggested donation: $5
