Jane Murphy on Book Reviews
A good review can mean a lot to an author. It can convince a reader to buy the book; it can prompt a reader to pass it up. What is a reviewer looking for when they read a book and what are librarians looking for when they read the review media?
Jane Murphy, a librarian for more than forty years, currently reviews crime fiction for Booklist, a journal of reviews and publishing info from the American Librarian Association. She will be sharing her knowledge and answering questions about book reviews at the next meeting of the Upper Hudson Chapter of Sisters in Crime.
The meeting will take place on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 11 am to Noon, on Zoom and in person at the Bethlehem Library, 451 Delaware Ave., Delmar, NY. Seating is limited.
