Caffe Lena Poetry Open Mic Featuring Susan Jefts

The first Wednesday of every month is Poetry Night at Caffe Lena. Hosted by Carol Graser, this event includes an open mic reading and a featured poet. The doors open for signups at 6:30 and the readings start at 7PM. On April 3 the featured poet is Susan Jefts. Susan Jefts returned in 2021 to the southern Adirondacks to build a home on family forest land overlooking Lake George. Her collection of poems, Breathing Lessons, was published in 2023 by Shanti Arts Publishers. Her work has been published in many anthologies and journals including A Slant of Light, Birchsong II, Quiet Diamonds, Poems in the Time of Covid, Plant-Human Quarterly, BlueStone Review, Blue Line Literary Magazine, Parnassus, Big City Lit, Best of Burlington Writers, The Gardan Journal, Zig Zag Magazine, and Fired Up, among others. She works as an editor of manuscripts and writes a poetry column. She also leads workshops using poetry to explore what we find meaningful and sacred in our lives, and to deepen our felt connections to the vital world of forests, mountains, and water.
