Caffe Lena Poetry Open Mic Featuring Samira Sangare and SG
On Wednesday, February 7, 2024, Caffè Lena will present a poetry reading by Samira Sangare and SG. An open mic poetry reading will follow. Doors open for sign-ups at 6:30 pm and the readings will start at 7:00. The host for the event will be Carol Graser and the cost is $5 general, free for students. Samira Sangare and SG have performed together at various events across the Capital District for many years. SG is a spoken word artist and poet known for her honest, passionate poetry and has performed widely. Samira Sangare is a slam poet, activist, human rights scholar and cofounder of Saratoga Black Lives Matter. For over 8 years, she has been performing at local slams, rallies, and events and has organized several readings showcasing spoken word talent from across the area.
