Caffe Lena Poetry Open Mic Featuring Lale Davidson
On Wednesday, February 2, 2022, Caffè Lena will present a poetry reading by Lale Davidson with an open mic poetry reading will follow. Doors open for sign-ups at 6:30 pm and the readings will start at 7:00. The host for the event will be Carol Graser and the cost is $5 general, free for students. Described as magic realism at its best, Lâle Davidson’s novel, Blue Woman Burning, was published by Red Penguin Books in the fall of 2021. Her flash fiction-prose poetry collection Strange Appetites won the Adirondack Center for Writing’s People’s Choice Award in 2016 and was recently re-issued. She is a Distinguished Professor of writing at SUNY Adirondack, and recipient of the Chancellor’sAward for Scholarship and Creative Activities.
