The first Wednesday of every month is Poetry Night at Caffe Lena. Hosted by Carol Graser, this event includes an open mic reading and a featured poet. The doors open for signups at 6:30 and the readings start at 7PM. In July the featured poet is Jill Crammond. The featured reading will also be livestreamed; please visit for links and information.

Jill Crammond’s first book, Handbook for Unwell Mothers, was released in May 2023 from Finishing Line Press. Her poems have appeared in literary magazines and anthologies such as Jet Fuel Review, Sweet Tree Review, SWWIM, Slipstream, Limp Wrist, Tinderbox Poetry Journal, Mom Egg Review, Mother Mary Comes to Me: A Pop Culture Poetry Anthology (Madville Publishing), Fiolet & Wing: An Anthology of Domestic Fabulist Poetry, and others. Her work has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize, and her poems recently appeared as part of Poem Village, a community program celebrating local poetry in the Adirondack town of Saranac Lake. She currently lives in upstate NY with her two children and teaches art and preschool at a nature-based school.
